Vanessa Said:My IELTS is expired in jan 2009.Can i apply for a uk study visa?
We Answered:If you're already enrolled then I don't think you need it again. But to be sure, it's better to ask an agent or an officer directly. At the end of the day, it's better to take the IELTS again than to face an unnecessary problem that could've been avoided.
Christine Said:my sister wants to apply for study in uk with her husband like ausstralia spouse visa how she can get for uk.?
We Answered:If I understand you right, she wants to come as a student and have her husband accompany her?
Yes this is possible provided you both meet the required conditions.. He would have to come as your sister's dependant and would be able to work. His length of stay will be subject to your sister's visa and no settlement rights can be gained as long as she is on a student visa.
Both your sister and her husband must be over 21.
She will need to choose an educational sponsor approved by the Home Office. The link below has the pdf list of registered education sponsors.
To apply for a visa she will need a visa letter from her chosen sponsor confirming the unconditional offer of a place on a course.
The funds she will need to have available at the time of application are as follows:
If she is studying in Inner London, she will need to have 9 months maintenance funds of £800 for herself and £533 for her husband plus the first year's tuition fee i.e £11,997 plus the first year's tuition fee.
If she is studying elsewhere in the UK, she will need to have 9 months maintenance funds of £600 for herself and £400 for her husband plus the first year's tuition fee i.e £9,000 plus the first year's tuition fee.
They may have to register with the Police and they will have no recourse to public funds during their stay.
Your sister will be allowed to work 20 hours per week and full-time during vcacation in addition to any work placements required by her course. Her husband will be able to seek full time employment whilst in the UK.
