Scholarships For Single Black Mothers

Patrick Said:

are there any scholarships for single black mothers going to school to become a teacher?

We Answered:

ABSOLUTELY! there are for all three...

there are government loans & grants, and then there are private loans & scholarships. i dont know all your details, so i will just post all that i have on all of them.

there are some in this list for black, and single, and teaching. i know its a lot, but take your time and pick through them all. its worth it.

REMEMBER, pass on the info you find to others, so it helps them with their schooling as well. many people dont even know where to begin looking for this info... and its all free too. some sites charge for this free info, so avoid them.

stay strong and keep going. dont ever stop, even if you have to take one class per semester. its your ticket to a better life.

try to aim for grants/scholarships more... they are not to be paid back. its confusing sometimes, but just keep applying. Scholarships usually have a 1 or 2 page application, and require an essay. Take your time with the essay, so yours stands out.

every big (and small) company you see (manufacturer, orgs, corps and groups also) all have grants and scholarships they hand out like candy. Walmart, Kmart, Target, Coke, computer companies etc etc etc

heres a link with a HUGE amount of some available. some you will need to copy and paste into a new window. also, fastweb (take the time to fill it in) will search databases and get back to you with a list of scholarships you qualify for.

Also contact all mens, womens associations in your state, they almost always have grants & scholarships. What ever field you are going into, contact the orgs, associations etc for them; Also check with professional organizations related to your career interests, such as the American Bar Association or the American Medical Association. they also always have scholarships. Research and dig, call then write. Its all worth it.

OVER apply; it doesnt hurt to have too many, and the extra funds can help with housing.

CHILDREN OF MILITARY…… <-do search for ‘scholarships’……

Matthew Said:

I earned everything I got and I am black.?

We Answered:

I think it sounds like you worked very hard and deserve every success you have had in life. You go girl, you're an inspiration. Too many people are not motivated to get an education themselves and so they make sweeping platitudes about others. It's sad for them because if you only have love for your own race you're missing out on so much beauty.

Would it be wrong to have a "National Caucasian College"? Why is okay to have a "National Hispanic" one?

We Answered:

What's worse; implicit or explicit discrimination?

There are white schools and white funds and white TV Stations, they are often implicit, meaning they DON'T SAY IT but only whites can get hired there, or go there etc.

Implicit is worse imo, cowards, stand up and show what kinda fcktard you are, don't hide it.

Question for black people?

We Answered:

I am so sick of hearing about 'BLACK' problems. I am an American. I happen to be of Irish heritage. Not Irish- American..just American. If I have problems, I have problems, Not Irish problems... just problems. In America we probably have millions upon millions of people with the ratio of Irish blood that I have. Do 'we' all have something in common? Do we share the same problems? Do we get compensated for the abuse our forefathers withstood when they came to America and were abused??
The 'BLACK THANG' is WORN OUT!!!!! They divide themselves from the mainstream then cry discrimination. They show their a*s' and then call you racist because you don't want to be around them. You can not MAKE some one accept you. I don't care what laws are passed, it won't work. They are dividing their (AFRICANAMERICAN) A*S' just by their description of themselves, let alone the fact that they just don't know how to act.
WHEN THEY BECOME 'AMERICAN' I may listen to them.

Erica Said:

Do i have a good chance at getting emancipated?

We Answered:

rather than taking the emancipation route which would be too expensive and you have to prove YOU can pay all your bills etc etc. how about you approach your mother [assuming that she still has legal custody of you] and ask if you could move to your aunts place........if your g.parents have legal custody of you then ask them if you could move there............. where is your dad in all this??.

And if ALL else fails, hun you getting cr**ap grades ONLY hurts you........I would outshine the "perfect" cousin just t prove them wrong, besides which without some serious grades the chance of getting assistance into a decent college is remote...............bottom line is PROVE them wrong about you [as you know they are wrong already, now is the time to SHOW them]

Question for black people?

We Answered:

Black men with strong, responsible families are taught to be strong role models, even if they only have one strong parent. And this type of behavior is very common among middle class black men. However, what people still tend to focus on when they think of black men, and black people in general, is the ghetto culture. This is because ghetto culture is what the media focuses on for entertainment purposes. It's not that there is a disconnect between what is taught and what is practiced. It's all squeaky-wheel syndrome. The bad apples are the ones who get all of the public attention. People who don't act up are the ones who aren't as visible.
