Scholarships/Grants/Loans for displaced homemakers/nursing students/VA?

We Answered:

With a bachelors degree already, you should start pounding the pavement and 1. either start looking for a job as a counselor or caseworker or 2. check out Masters degree programs in the area. An RN is going to be difficult (in getting fin aid) because you already have a Bachelor's degree. Always go UP in educational degrees, not down. Most RN programs are only associates degrees.

Financial Aid/Grants/Scholarships/Student Loans?

We Answered:

First thing you will want to do is complete a FAFSA if you haven't already. One you do that you will want to talk to your schools financial aid department about which lenders will work with them in regards to the Federal Stafford Loans. The loans have a low, fixed interest rate and you do not need to start paying them back until 6 months after you leave school. Once you have the list of lenders your school works with you need to pick one, since the interest rate is the same, and complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) for the Stafford Loans. I hope this helps.

Willard Said:

is there any scolarship grants or study now pay later for nursing students like me?

We Answered:

Oh yeah, it just depends on what schools you are looking at. In NC where I live there are alot of nursing schools around me that will "forgive" your loan (clear it out) if you agree to work for the local hospitals for a certain amount of time. Ask your nursing department head or research the local hospitals.
