Suggest me a few audio books, would you please?

We Answered:

I have listened to many audio books and I agree with the other posters - the Harry Potter books are just about the best, performance-wise as well as story-wise, that I have heard. You should be able to find these in your public library.

If you like fantasy, you might also enjoy Eragon, Eldest and Brisingr by Christopher Paolini. The Discworld books by Terry Pratchett are also a lot of fun to read and quite humorous.

For Alternate History, which is one of my favorite genres to read, I would suggest many of the books of Harry Turtledove. If you can find them, start with Guns of the South and then read the Great War, American Empire and Settling Accounts series. The three series involve a world where the South doesn't lose the Civil War and there continue to be struggles between the North and the South.

You might also enjoy his Worldwar series in which aliens attempt to conquer and enslave Earth. They arrive at the height of WWII expecting to find a medieval society and humans unite and create some unexpected alliances in order to save Earth.

For science fiction, you might enjoy many of the Star Trek and Star Wars books that are available as audio books.

Most public libraries carry audiobooks and some even have download services available. Check with your local library for more information on this. You can also e-mail me for more information on where to get most of these titles.
