Tonya Said:How come Islam, possibly the most hostile religion in existence, continues to grow?
We Answered:Maybe people are getting afraid! They see how the infidels are being treated/threatened.
Lisa Said:Not getting good grades, driving me into depression?
We Answered:Well, it sounds to me like your problem has little to do with having any type of learning disability too. It truly sounds like what's causing all of this is certainly your lack of discipline. You stated that although you have no problem with learning and doing well, you seem to be discouraged with the idea of studying when it comes to the classes you're taking in college. The difference between when you where in high school and now is that in high school, you kind of have to learn whatever they give you, whereas college is more focused on what you're interested in. Yes, you always have to take certain courses that could be considered irrelevant, but mainly it's focused on your major. The "irrelevant" ones' purpose is to create well rounded people, and it can be beneficial.
But it sounds to me like the reason why you might have a hard time focusing on your courses might be because you're not really passionate about your major (physics). It's hard to find motivation when we're obliged to follow through with something that's of little interest to us. Perhaps you could try and think about what your passion is. It would be a good idea to make a list of short term and long term goals. If you do that, maybe you could discover what you really want to dedicate your time studying and after that, its all a matter or changing majors (which is easily done during first year of college). Maybe you should get more organized too. Buy a day planner and write things down. It really helps sometimes to prevent procrastinating. In my opinion, and I've stated this many times before, passion gives purpose. If you're not passionate about what you're doing, it makes life seem bleak and meaningless. It also makes routine tedious and horrible. Maybe you should re-evaluate what it is that YOU WANT to do for once, instead of focusing on what you should be doing. It's your life, make it worthwhile. Where would you like to see yourself in the future? After you figure this out, motivation is not that hard to find. And the answer isn't set in stone either. You can always start over, so don't feel pressured to make anything definite. Do what feels right for you.
Also, college can be overwhelming for a lot of people at first and it's completely normal to feel discouraged. You have to just do as best as you can. Eventually you will get used to it, that is if it's the path you want to take. If you feel like no matter what you do you always end up feeling unhappy, then maybe it's time to consider going to therapy. Sometimes talking about your emotions can unburden you and help you think more clearly. We often don't realize certain things until we say them out loud. I'm sure it would benefit you greatly to do this. Or maybe you could also talk to a campus counselor to help you out. Whatever it is, do something about it. Trust me, I've had my share of depression in my life and I know what it's like to feel like what I'm doing is pointless. But there's always a way to make it better, you just have to make the effort. And even if it may seem like the solution would take a lot of hard work, it's always worth it in the end. It won't really seem like so much when you are doing something you are passionate about and you can see yourself having a happy future with. Everyone feels like they lose control sometimes so don't feel like you're not normal. Keep fighting for your goals... I hope this helps and I wish you luck!
Valerie Said:help me cooking homework for tomorroww?
We Answered:Here is a pretty user-friendly website that explains a bit about fair-trade commodities.
Luis Said:What is your opinion on this statement without the 12 million undocumented, this country will fall?
We Answered:The country won't fall without them - it will fall if they continue to stay here and undercut citizen workers. I'm so tired of people saying that illegals are doing the jobs we won't do. They're doing it for less than any of us would be paid to do it. Hey, I can do your job as well as you and will work for half the pay. That's undercutting. That's destroying the economy.
Willard Said:Fair Trade?
We Answered:Fair trade is for the mmost part a good deal for all. The fact is that some places are very dependent on one main sorce of income and opening trade without first diversafying those areas will devistate many people.
Progress is being made all the time. Some people have been hurt severly by fair trade for a while but most of the time it is only for a few years. Even tht should be avoided if possible.
